"You can't complain anymore" - Pundit insists Manchester United are 'going backwards' under Erik ten Hag after 3-0 loss

Jamie Redknapp believes Manchester United are regressing under Erik ten Hag. The pundit has criticized the Red Devils' performance against Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Sunday, September 29.

Manchester United locked horns with Tottenham at Old Trafford this weekend and suffered a disappointing 3-0 defeat. United had an awful start to the encounter, conceding within the first three minutes courtesy of Brennan Johnson's strike.

Bruno Fernandes was then sent off in the 42nd minute. Goals from Dejan Kulusevski (47') and Dominic Solanke (77') in the second period capped off an excellent night for Ange Postecoglou's side as they secured all three points.

Speaking on Sky Sports after the game, Redknapp criticized Ten Hag for United's poor performances, insisting that they've hit a new low after the Spurs defeat. He said:

"I think that 616 million pounds he's spent, Ten Hag, in two years. They're going backward. He's going backward. You can't complain anymore. He's got his back four in place. He's got all the players at his disposal and there are no excuses."

The former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder added:

"They are at rock bottom right now. I just don't see where he can go from here. They're as bad as I've seen a United side. It's actually disgusting, it's embarrassing. Because a club of this stature shouldn't be producing performances like that."

Manchester United will next face Porto away in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday, October 3.

"They don't want it enough" - Pundit agrees with Manchester United star Christian Eriksen's comments after Europa League defeat

Jamie Redknapp is in agreement with Christian Eriksen over Manchester United's desire to win, or lack thereof.

The Red Devils kicked off the 2024-25 UEFA Europa League campaign in poor fashion. They drew 1-1 against Eredivisie side FC Twente in their tournament opener on September 25, a fixture many United fans certainly expected a victory from.

After the game, Christian Eriksen made an honest admission about his opponents 'wanting it' more than United. Redknapp has agreed with the Danish midfielder's assessment and believes it is unacceptable. He said:

"Christian Eriksen said it after their game mid-week against FC Twente. They don't want it enough. That can never happen. You can get beaten. You can always have moments where a team does you a bit of skill or a bit of quality but you can't get outworked. And that's the most damning thing for me in these last few games."

Manchester United are 12th in the Premier League table, six points adrift of the top four. Ten Hag's men have secured two wins from six games so far this season.
