"You okay?" – Manchester United legend Gary Neville involved in heated exchange with former Liverpool striker on social media

Manchester United legend Gary Neville has recently seen himself get involved in a bizarre spat with ex-Liverpool and Southampton star Rickie Lambert on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Earlier this week, Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) raised concerns about the United Kingdom government's proposed Independent Football Regulator (IFR), which is aimed to improve financial stability. Should the bill get passed, England and English clubs could reportedly be removed from UEFA competitions in the future.

Commenting on the recent reports about the IFR, Neville posted on X:

"I don't post much anymore but feel the need to on this subject. Please don't be fooled by the scaremongering regarding the independent regulator and England losing tournaments. They will do anything to stop it coming in and are happy to create misinformation and apply soft power in the right places in the meantime."

Neville added:

"The regulator will have no impact at all on the quality of the Premier League yet will importantly protect the wider game and pyramid. England will also not lose hosting tournaments, but even if they did it’s more important that we protect the entirety of English club football than getting a tournament every 50 years."

Lambert, who represented Liverpool 36 times as a player, responded:

"It's becoming clear exactly who and what you are @GNev2. Instead of using the footballing community to come together and stop what is being implemented onto us, you are using your position to try and persuade them to accept the corrupt, cowardly shadow governments plan to destroy our way of life and society."

The ex-Manchester United right-back replied to Lambert on X, writing:

"You okay Rickie? πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚"

Immediately responding to Neville, Lambert commented on X:

"I'm good Gary, you seen what your mates doing to this country? Why would you let them anywhere near our game?"

Manchester United and Liverpool interested in roping in 22-year-old Bundesliga forward

According to Spanish news outlet Fichajes.net, Manchester United, Liverpool, and Newcastle United are all keen to sign Borussia Dortmund forward Karim Adeyemi. BVB, on the other hand, are said to be hoping to retain the German's services but could sell under pressure.

Adeyemi, 22, has cemented himself as one of the best wingers in the Bundesliga since joining BVB from Red Bull Salzburg in 2022. He has registered 16 goals and 10 assists in 70 total matches for his club.

Manchester United are currently aiming to sign a winger with Antony proving to be a disappointing signing so far. Liverpool, on the other hand, are on the lookout for an ideal replacement for Mohamed Salah.
