Neymar escapes unhurt from a traffic accident
Barcelona and Brazil superstar Neymar survived a scare when his Ferrari 458 Spider was involved in a traffic accident ahead of his side’s game against Real Sociedad. The incident occurred while the 24-year-old was travelling to the Ciutat Esportiva to join his teammates for their preparation for the game.
Spanish news agency, TV3, that first ran the news about the crash has also, thankfully, confirmed that Neymar did not suffer any injuries and should be fit to face Sociedad on Sunday evening.
The accident occurred when the Brazilian tried to exit the highway, leaving the side of his car dented. However, the superstar was unscathed and continued with his journey to join his teammates for the preparations and would be keen to put the minor, yet negatively impacting event behind him when he takes the pitch against Sociedad.

The Brazilian has expressed his fondness for the Ferrari he bought in October 2015, posting a picture of himself sitting atop his new acquisition, which pegged him back by a cool £200,000 on Instagram with quotes, “Thank you God for giving me health, and with the fruit of my labour I fulfill another childhood dream.”
Neymar has become an integral part of the Barcelona attack since joining them from Santos in 2013 and is currently a serving member of the holy trinity of the footballing world alongside Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez. However, despite his impressive performances, which has seen him score 6 times and assist on 11 occasions in 15 appearances, the Brazilian has not been able to inspire his side to the top of the La Liga table and will be keen to help his side improve their current league position with a win over Sociedad away from home.
Given Barca’s firepower, it looks like an easy victory for the visitors. However, it is easier said than done considering the recent history between the two clubs. Barcelona, who currently sit 7 points behind leaders Real Madrid will be wary ahead of their trip to San Sebastian as the club has proven to be a thorn in the flesh for them in the past.
The Catalan giants have not won at Sociedad since 2007 and have, in fact, lost their last 4 visits to the ground on the trot and will be keen to shake off that record in order to remain in contention for the La Liga title, especially with Real Madrid turning up the heat so early in the season.
