Neymar looks to achieve what compatriot Ronaldo failed to do in Champions League

Ronaldo never won the Champions League – can Neymar win it this year?

Barcelona, June 2 FC Barcelona's Brazilian forward Neymar on Tuesday revealed that he is anxious but hopeful of doing what his illustrious compatriot Ronaldo failed to achieve – winning a European Champions League title – as the Spanish club gears up to face Juventus on Saturday.

Barcelona last won the competition in 2011 and Neymar moved there two years later, winning his first trophies in this season in the form of the La Liga and Copa del Rey titles. The 23-year-old is yet to play in a Champions League final.

His legendary compatriot Ronaldo, who won both the 1994 and 2002 FIFA World Cups, never won the club competition, despite representing Barcelona, Real Madrid, AC Milan and Inter Milan, and Neymar is determined to outdo the 38-year-old.

"I'm very anxious. Ronaldo did not win the Champions League, which shows how difficult it is. We have the chance to win and I will do my all to win the title," Neymar was quoted as saying by Globoesporte.com.

"The team is happy. There's a good atmosphere, good for work and now we're concentrating on the final.

"From the moment that we saw that things were tough for us, we got together and said, 'We have to win for ourselves'," Neymar concluded.
