Neymar makes crucial transfer decision amid rumours of PSG exit this summer: Reports
Neymar has suffered a transfer blow as Barcelona are reportedly not interested in re-signing the Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) star. He will now have to think about other clubs as he does not want to play for another side in Spain.
As per a report in ESPN, Neymar is not interested in joining another side in Spain. He is adamant about that and will have to try and get a move elsewhere.
PSG are keen on selling the Brazilian this summer - six years after signing him for €222 million from Barcelona. However, they are running out of options as the forward is not interested in any Spanish side apart from the Catalan giants.
Chelsea have been linked with the forward, but they are also reconsidering the deal despite showing interest last summer. The forward was linked with the Blues in the January window, but no move materialized.
Neymar wanted to rejoin Barcelona from PSG
Former Brazil international Kaka revealed to Diario AS that Neymar tried his best to rejoin Barcelona as he was having a tough time at Paris Saint-Germain. He claimed that the Brazilian slowly adjusted to life in Paris and said:
"We're close friends. I spoke a lot with Neymar and of course he had a bad time at Paris Saint-Germain the year he wanted to return to Barcelona. Today he's happy. He thinks about the long-term project at Paris Saint-Germain. Year after year the team gets stronger, they're building more cohesion to win something really important like the Champions League, and he's happy in Paris and at Paris Saint-Germain."
Luis Suarez has claimed that he and Lionel Messi tried their best to stop Neymar's move to PSG. He was quoted by MARCA:
"If Neymar had stayed at Barcelona, he would have won a Ballon d'Or for sure. I didn't really like talking about it, but there came a time when it was already a big thing, so we went to talk to Neymar and said, 'Ney, if you want to win everything stay here with us.' We, as friends, advised him to stay, but it's his decision, his family's decision. We said: 'Neymar, England is better. [Manchester] City, [for example]. Football will be better there. But in France?'"
Neymar was the subject of a protest from Paris Saint-Germain fans last month as they want him to leave the club.
