Chelsea's John Terry gives away signed shirt for fan who lost her mother
Often portrayed as a bad guy by the English media, Chelsea captain John Terry showed his soft side yet again.
Upon discovering that Chelsea supporter Louise Heaton had lost her mother, the defender left a signed match shirt and a letter via Instagram for the 21-year-old.
Terry wrote: “I'm very sorry to hear the terrible news of your mum passing. I would love to send you one of my match shirts and sign it to you. To know I and Chelsea can help you through this difficult time would be an honour for me.”
“You need to continue your mums legacy and be strong but never be afraid to cry and think of those fantastic memories. Over time it will get easier,” he added. “Lots of love JT. I really hope you accept my shirt. X”
Upon receiving the gift, Louise was quoted by the Independent saying, "I sent him a message just to thank him, as he had previously wished me a happy birthday, letting him know how much it meant considering the circumstances. And that's when he sent me the message and offered me a signed shirt."
