Nigeria's coach Keshi says team ready to face Ethiopia
Abuja, Oct 10 (IANS): Nigeria’s Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi Wednesday said he and his team members were ready for whatever they may have to face in Addis Ababa on Sunday against Ethiopia.
The Nigerian team was well aware of all types of tricks the hosts would come up with, reported Xinhua citing Keshi in Abuja.
The Super Eagles is camping in Abuja ahead of its crucial 2014 World Cup qualifier against Ethiopia Oct 13 in Addis Ababa.
The Nigerian coach said the team was fully aware of the fact that the game was going to be different from what had been before.
“We have to prepare ourselves and wait for what is going to come up in Ethiopia,” he added, noting that the only way to survive in Ethiopia is to prepare and play with intensity Sunday.
Keshi allayed fears that the team was under pressure to win in Addis Ababa, saying that the team would shrug off any attempt by the hosts to frustrate it.
The Nigerian handler who said he was looking forward to going back to Brazil after Nigeria’s participation at last June’s 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup said he was hoping for a good result.
The former coach of Togo told reporters that a draw against Ethiopia Sunday would place the Super Eagles in a good position to pick the ticket ahead of the Walya Antelopes.
