No offers have been received for Leandro Damiao yet - Internacional
Brazilian club Internacional have rubbished all the rumours surrounding Leandro Damiao and said that no official offers for the striker have been received yet.
Leandro Damiao, 23, has been a long standing target for Tottenham Hotspur but some reports in the past week claimed that Southampton might have hijacked the move to sign the Brazilian striker.
Luis Cesar Souto de Moura, who is Internacional’s director of football, admitted that there is some interest from the clubs but insisted that no official offers had been made yet.
He told Esporte Interativo: “Nothing has come, clubs from everywhere sound him out all the time, but we don’t even consider that anymore, as there are too many enquiries but offers never come.
“I am working with the idea of keeping the player, so that he doesn’t leave.”
Andre Villas-Boas tried to sign Leandro in the last summer but the deal couldn’t be finalised due to some complexity in the 23-year-old’s contract.
“It wasn’t something we just did on the last day of the window. Third party ownership makes it difficult to do,” added Luis Cesar Souto de Moura.
