Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini fined and suspended for lashing out at Gianni Infantino
Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini was fined and suspended on Friday for his offensive comments against FIFA president Gianni Infantino.
Zamparini had said Infantino, who has succeeded Sepp Blatter as the chief of football's world governing body, bought votes to achieve the post.

The Italian federation stated on its website that Zamparini has been suspended for 20 days and fined 18,000 Euros for his remarks.
"The National Federal Court presided over by the lawyer. Sergio Artico has sanctioned the Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini with the inhibition of 20 days and a fine of 18,000 euro," a statement on the FIGC website said.

"The Sicilian club was also fined 18.000. Zamparini had already been banned for some remarks that were offensive to FIFA president Gianni Infantino."
