Rumour: Paris Saint-Germain line up Petr Cech as they continue Chelsea raid
Following their capture of David Luiz, Paris Saint-German are set to continue their raid on Chelsea with a move for veteran shot-stopper Petr Cech, as reported by the Metro.
With a fee agreed between Chelsea and PSG for the sale of Luiz, the Ligue 1 champions are poised to make offers for both Eden Hazard and Petr Cech.
The former Rennes goalkeeper performed admirably in his 10th season at Stamford Bridge and was rightfully acknowledged by the PFA when they named Cech in the Premier League Team of the Year.
In spite of this, Jose Mourinho has elected to recall Thibaut Courtois from his three-year loan spell at La Liga champions Atletico Madrid, following the Belgian man’s spectacular season at the Vicente Calderon in which he recorded 20 clean sheets.
Courtois went on record earlier in the week to say that it would be unhealthy for him and Cech to coexist in the same team, and it looks increasingly like the 22-year-old will be granted his wish.
Despite failing to adhere to UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations, PSG are showing no signs of frugality in their first transfer window since the infarction.
