PSG coach, Nick Broad, has tragically died following an auto mobile accident on Thursday.

Nick Broad, 38, has died following an  auto mobile accident on Thursday. He was one of the members of PSG’s backroom staff, and a good friend of manager Carlo Ancelotti. Broad was the club’s performance director, advising players over dietary techniques as well as monitoring their physical parameters.

Reports said that he had run out of fuel in his car, and was waiting on the side of the motorway for assistance when he got hit by an oncoming vehicle.

“We are all devastated by the painful news of the brutal death of a man renowned for his competence and well-liked by everyone,” PSG said in a statement. “Nick was a brilliant man with great qualities and a sincere friend.”

Broad had worked with Ancelotti previously at Chelsea for two seasons.

Sometimes life is unfair. RIP my Friend. Always have a thought for you,” former PSG striker Guillaume Hoarau tweeted.

“Just heard the news about Nick Broad shocking news worked with him at Blackburn Rovers. Heart goes out to his family,” former Blackburn and Manchester United striker Andrew Cole tweeted.

Broad had worked for Blackburn Rovers and Birmingham, before working with Chelsea until 2008.

“I learned with great sadness about the death of Nick Broad. I share the pain of PSG, which wanted to postpone the match against Bordeaux, but this was impossible to do 48 hours before the game,” LFP president Frederic Thiriez said in a statement. “To pay homage to him, and to share the pain of the club and his loved ones, a minute’s silence will be observed tomorrow night.”
