EPL 2016/17: Paul Pogba believes Manchester United are cursed under Jose Mourinho

Paul Pogba feels that Manchester United are cursed after they failed to overcome West Ham

Manchester United’s £89 million star midfielder, Paul Pogba, believes his team is “cursed” after their frustrating draw against West Ham United in the Premier League on Sunday. The 1-1 result meant the Red Devils had drawn four consecutive games at Old Trafford for the first time since 1980.

The result aside, Paul Pogba was phenomenal for Manchester United in his outing against the Hammers as he assisted Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s equaliser after West Ham’s Diafra Sakho scored the first goal of the game within two minutes of the start of the match, stunning the home crowd.

Jose Mourinho’s Red Devils have failed to secure all three points on four occasions at home this season with draws coming against Burnley, Stoke City, Arsenal, and West Ham on Sunday. This leaves Mourinho’s United lying in 6th place with 20 points after 13 games which is also the club’s worst ever start to an English Premier League season.

Pogba described his feelings about the result against West Ham after the game and also feels that things will soon turn around for the club.

Luck will change, says Pogba

"We're going to start to think we're cursed," Pogba told SFR Sport. "It doesn't matter which team comes here, we dominate them, be it Arsenal or West Ham today. Our luck will change at one time or another, and it's then that we'll have to take it.”

Paul Pogba insisted that he is still confident about their chances this season and that the team must pay extra attention to detail and avoid conceding silly goals along with crucial points.

"I'm still confident because we create chances. It'll come. I'm confident in my team. We just have to pay attention to the small details. Today we conceded a daft goal, against Arsenal it was also the small details. I'm still confident, it'll come right. We are dropping silly points, but it'll come right," stated the Frenchman.

Understanding building between Zlatan and Pogba

The good news for Manchester United fans and Jose Mourinho is that their world record signing is slowly starting to find his feet and is improving every game. Pogba’s link up play with Zlatan was exceptional in the game against West Ham, and United fans can expect plenty of the same in the upcoming games as well.

"We find each other well," said the French midfielder after providing the assist for Ibrahimovic's equaliser. "Again today he had chances, he scored from one of my passes. All I wish for is that he continues scoring for the team and for himself."

Paul Pogba and his fellow Red Devils will be seeking revenge as they once again take on West Ham United in an EFL Cup quarter-final clash on the 1st of December.
