Manchester United have always been in my heart, says Paul Pogba

Paul Pogba’s Manchester United return was the biggest summer story in football

Paul Pogba has admitted that Manchester United have always been in his heart, even when he was away from Old Trafford. The 23-year-old left the Red Devils as a free agent in the summer of 2012 and made a switch to Juventus. In Turin, the midfielder won four successive Serie A titles and was also part of their squad, that lost to Barcelona in the Champions League final.

United appointed Jose Mourinho as their manager following the exit of Louis van Gaal, who helped them win the FA Cup. The arrival of the Portuguese tactician made it easier for the Red Devils re-sign Pogba last summer.

Pogba returned the Premier League for a world-record fee of £89.3 million. He admitted that he always felt United is like his home and revealed that he always knew that he would return to Old Trafford, something which was fulfilled earlier in August.

"I have United in my heart. It's my house. When I left I always knew that I would come back. For me, it's just normal. It's like I went on holiday and just came back. Seriously. Nothing really changed. I'm the same person," Pogba told while speaking at an exclusive Adidas event in London.

So far, Pogba has scored four goals in all competitions, which includes two goals in the Premier League since coming back to Old Trafford. Mourinho has played him in a two-man midfielder and also in a three-man midfield.

In addition to this, the midfielder has featured in the No 10 role, just behind the striker. However, the France international has explained what sort of game he would prefer under the guidance of the former Real Madrid and Chelsea manager.

"They teach you some things but football is instinct sometimes. You just get the ball and sometimes you dribble past three players and pass it, other times you can shoot from far away. It's just instinct. If you feel something, just do it. I am free to do that," the star midfielder explained.

United have won the Community Shield by defeating Leicester City 2-1 before the start of the season. They even defeated West Ham United 4-1 in the EFL Cup quarter-final, which saw them book a place in the last four of the competition.

Pogba has set his sights on winning the EFL Cup with his current employers this term. He said, "I'm looking forward to the semi-final against Hull. Hopefully, we can get to Wembley." But there are bigger prizes on his radar in the long term.
