What's the story?

Juventus forward Paulo Dybala has given his verdict on football's most intense rivalry - the 'greatest of all time' debate centered around Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. According to the forward, it is near to impossible to choose between the two poster boys of football.

In case you didn't know...

The 25-year-old Bianconeri star has had the privilege of playing with both five-time Ballon d'Or winners. While he has played with Messi in the Argentina national team, he now shares the dressing room with Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus.

Ronaldo moved to the Turin outfit last summer in a £88 million deal that saw him end his nine-year long association with Real Madrid.

Despite being in their thirties, both the players are showing no signs of stopping as they continue to terrorize defences in their respective leagues.

The heart of the matter

Having played with both of the aces, Dybala has weighed in on the debate surrounding the duo, stating that it is "impossible" to make comparisons, especially when both players are way ahead of everybody else.

Speaking in an interview with Telefoot (via AS), the striker said:

"I am lucky enough to have Cristiano at my club and Leo in my national team but it’s impossible to make a comparison between the two of them or say who is the best because they are at a level on a par with each other and well above everybody else and that has been the case for several years."

He continued:

"They are different, they have enormous influence because they can decide games on their own and because of the effect they have on the opposition."

The 25-year-old also spoke about Ronaldo's influence since arriving at Juventus, adding:

"Cristiano is an example to follow in training and in his daily life, you can learn a lot from him."

What's next?

Juventus is next scheduled to face Milan in the Supercoppa Italia final on January 16.
