Should Pedro leave Barcelona for PSG?

Paris Saint Germain have made a €40 million offer for Barcelona winger Pedro Rodriguez. Pedro has neither denied nor accepted the offer suggesting that he would like to succeed in Barcelona. The Spanish international has three more years left in his contract with the Blaugrana.

€40 million is a tempting offer and in my opinion Pedro should leave Barca for his own good. Barcelona is already overloaded with exceptional strikers like Lionel Messi, Neymar and Cesc Fabregas too plays in that position. Add to that Alexis Sanchez and the vibrant Cristian Tello. Pedro after two disappointing performances for Barcelona will soon find it tough to get a place in the starting lineup. The last match saw the winger put up a quiet performance against Malaga and Neymar, after a good performance in the last match, is almost sure to replace Pedro.

The need of the hour for Barcelona is a good defender and they’re trying hard to sign Chelsea defender David Luiz. Barcelona can surely survive without Pedro since they have a formidable attacking vanguard which is sure to give many defenders nightmares. PSG coach Laurent Blanc is very keen on signing Pedro and has suggested that the Spaniard will be a vital addition to the French team.

However not many are keen on getting rid of Pedro, but the sudden surge of strikers in Barcelona is sure to see Pedro’s rank go down the order. Pedro has started the season on a strong note but so have Alexis Sanchez and Neymar. Brazilian Neymar will no doubt, be included in the starting lineup in the days to come with Fabregas also sure to secure a place, which leaves Pedro and the Chilean Alexis Sanchez in a battle for the higher rank.

PSG’s biggest signing this summer has been Edison Cavani. If Pedro is signed, he will surely bolster their attacking options. Even though Barcelona has taken a tough stance and has denied to sell Pedro, this deal will be a lucrative one for both the Spanish international and PSG.
