Pep Guardiola delays contract extension talks with Bayern Munich
Pep Guardiola has invited doubts about his future at Bayern Munich by delaying contract talks until summer. Recent reports suggest that Guardiola might cut short his stay at the Allianz Arena to seal a move to the Premier League. The Spanish manager has been linked with a transfer to Manchester City since the last season.
Guardiola’s contract with the German club will expire in 2016 but it does not seem to worry him at all. When asked about his future, he said, “We still have time to talk about that (contract extension) after the end of the season in the summer.
“Football is today like that and completely different the next day”
Would like to be a trainer in England: Guardiola
Pep Guardiola managed Barcelona from 2008 to 2012 and in 2013 he joined Bayern Munich. His relation with the Catalan club, for whom he also turned out for as a player, has recently been under scrutiny.
After signing for the Bundesliga club, he had revealed his wish to coach in England before finishing his career. Former Camp Nou chiefs Ferran Soriano and Txiki Begiristain are both currently holding senior posts at the Etihad Stadium.
He had said, “Before I finish my career, sooner or later, I would like to go to England as a trainer, but in a few years”.
