Leicester City 2-0 Liverpool: Player Ratings

Jamie Vardy put in another Man of the Match performance.

Leicester City continued their fight for the league title, as they beat Liverpool 2-0 at the King Power Stadium. Jamie Vardy put in another Man of the Match performance, as he scored a stunner from 30 yards out and added a second few minutes later to earn all the three points for Leicester City.

The Foxes are now three points clear on the top and look unstoppable.

We take a look at the individual player ratings from the game at King Power Stadium:

Leicester City

Kasper Schmeichel – 7/10

Liverpool had more shots in the game than Leicester City, but just two of them were on target, and Schmeichel really didn’t have much to do. He put ina  decent performance and helped his team keep a clean sheet.

Danny Simpson – 8/10

Danny Simpson was particularly brilliant going forward and his work rate was also impressive.  He also put in a couple of good tackles, and helped his team to keep a clean sheet.

Wes Morgan – 7/10

Wes Morgan put in a brilliant performance in the weekend and did it once again last night. He blocked a couple of shots that could have caused few troubles for Leicester City.

Robert Huth – 8/10

Huth put in a solid performance at the back, as he didn’t allow Liverpool players too much time and space on the ball. He made sure the Liverpool players don’t get too many shots on goal

Christian Fuchs – 7/10

Left the defense open a couple of times, but Liverpool players didn’t do enough to take advantage of that. His long throws caused panic in the Liverpool defense, and was also impressive going forward.

Marc Albrighton – 6/10

Albrighton had a decent evening, but should be doing better. He failed to get in the right channels, and Clyne did well to contain him. He was substituted in the 78th minute for Demerai Gray.

N’Golo Kanté – 8/10

He keeps getting better, doesn’t he? Kante put in a solid performance in the middle of the park, as he controlled the game brilliantly. His strong presence in the midfield is easy to see, as he made few good tackles and was also dominating in the air.

Daniel Drinkwater – 7/10

Drinkwater doesn’t get all the plaudits he deserves, but he has been top notch this season alongside Kante. He made few great tackles in the middle of the park, but his passing could have been a bit better.

Riyad Mahrez – 7/10

Mahrez caused a few troubles in the Liverpool defense, and went close to scoring a couple of times with his long range shots. Mahrez also played the ball for Vardy’s first goal, and was a constant threat to the Liverpool defense.

Shinji Okazaki – 7/10

Okazaki put in a good performance, and his work rate was particularly impressive, but should be scoring from the header that was saved by Simon Mignolet.

Jamie Vardy – 10/10

He is unstoppable, isn’t he? Confidence is the key for any striker to be successful, and Vardy has loads of them. He scored a stunning goal from 30 yards, before adding a second few minutes later.

Substitutes:

Demarai Gray – 5/10

He came on the 78th minute for Albrighton, but hardly had time to make any sort of an impact.

Andy King – N/A

Leonardo Ullo – N/A
