“Please Xavi let him in”, “That’s crazy” – Barcelona fans frustrated with midfielder not being named in line-up to face Real Sociedad

Barcelona fans are disheartened to see Pablo Torre failing to secure a starting spot in the team's first XI against Real Sociedad. The clash at Camp Nou marks Xavi's side's first game since they secured the La Liga 2022-23 title with a win over Espanyol.

With the team having already become Spanish champions, fans expected Xavi to give La Masia prospects chances to shine. They, especially, were keen to see Torre in the first XI.

The 20-year-old has made 10 appearances across competitions this season, scoring one goal and providing one assist. However, he has started only three games, two of them coming in the Copa del Rey.

Torre is yet to start a La Liga match this season and fans expected him to be given a chance as the league title has already been secured. However, Torre could only make the bench.

Marc-Andre Ter Stegen starts between the sticks for the Catalan club. Jules Kounde, Andreas Christensen, Jordi Alba, and Alejandro Balde are the four defenders. Sergio Busquets, Franck Kessie, and Frenkie de Jong are the three midfielders.

Ousmane Dembele starts in the attack alongside Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski. Fans, though, are moaning over Torre's absence. One of them wrote on Twitter:

"No Pablo Torre thats crazyyy."

Another wrote:

"We want Torre to play. Please Xavi let him in."

The clash against Sociedad is the first time Barca will play at the Camp Nout after winning La Liga. What kind of celebrations take place after the game remains to be seen.

However, despite the team's status as the Spanish champions, Pablo Torre remains out of Barcelona's playing XI. Here are some of the best fan reactions on Twitter to his omission:

Pablo Torre could leave Barcelona in the summer

While Pablo Torre is certainly a talented player, he could be on his way out of Barcelona in the summer. With Sergio Busquets leaving at the end of the season, the club will need to deepen their midfield pool.

However, Torre might not be in their plans. According to AS, Barca are keen on signing Juan Foyth as their right-back in the summer. Torre, along with Ferran Torres and Nico Gonzalez, are among the options to be included in a player-plus-cash deal for the Villareal defender.

Torre is also getting lesser game time at the Catalan club. So, it might be better for him to get regular minutes elsewhere. A club like Villareal could certainly help Torre mature more as a player.
