Portugal 3-0 Turkey: Portugal player ratings as Cristiano Ronaldo & Co. reach Euro 2024 knockouts

Portugal secured a commanding 3-0 win over Turkey on Saturday (June 22) to confirm their qualification for the Euro 2024 knockouts. The Iberian nation was commanding and ruthless in the game, and the result was confirmation of that fact.

Both teams came into the encounter with opening victories, but Roberto Martinez’s men were the better team in Dortmund. Goals from Bruno Fernandes, Bernardo Silva and a comedic own goal from Turkey defender Samet Akaydin secured victory for the Portuguese.

Diogo Costa - 8/10

Costa was impressive, making three saves to keep a clean sheet. The FC Porto keeper completed 82% of his passes and was splendid overall.

Joao Cancelo - 8/10

Cancelo had a fantastic game on the Portuguese right. The defender offered solidity and completed 92% of his passes before being brought off in the 68th minute.

Ruben Diaz- 8/10

The Manchester City defender had a good game next to the experienced Pepe. Diaz looked assured and comfortable while keeping possession ticking from the heart of the defence with 93% pass completion.

Pepe- 8/10

The veteran defender looked like fine wine in possession and completed 97% of his passes to help his side maintain possession. Pepe was taken off in the 83rd minute after a fine performance that secured the win for his team.

Nuno Mendez- 8/10

It was a good performance from the PSG full-back. He secured his flank defensively and played a key part in the opening goal for Portugal.

Joao Palinha- 7.5/10

The Fulham midfielder had a good match for Portugal. He didn't make any mistakes, completing all his passes before being taken off at half-time.

Vitinha -8/10

The PSG midfielder enjoyed a good game for his country. He completed 92% of his passes to keep the midfield ticking along until he was taken off in the 88th minute.

Bruno Fernandes- 9/10

The Manchester United captain was a joy to behold. Playing in the No. 10 role, he bossed the game, winning 67% of his tackles, completing 77% of his passes and scoring the final goal of the game.

Bernardo Silva-9/10

Silva was remarkable and made a big difference. The Manchester City star was the Man of the Match and rightfully so. He completed 92% of his passes, had a 100% tackle completion rate and buried his chance to open the scoring.

Rafael Leao- 7/10

The AC Milan star was easy to miss in the game. He was hooked at half-time and will hope for a better showing in his next game.

Cristiano Ronaldo- 8/10

The Real Madrid legend didn't get a goal but was an important part of the Portugal set-up. His unselfish assist to Bruno Fernandes will warm the heart of fans. It was a fine performance from the legendary striker, but he awaits a goal at a record-extending sixth Euros.

Ruben Neves - 7.5/10

He came on for Palinha after half-time and was helpful, albeit unremarkable during the rest of the game.

Pedro Neto - 7.5/10

He came on for Rafael Leao at half-time. While he couldn't repeat his opening day performance, he was effective for his team.

Nelson Semedo- 7/10

The Wolverhampton Wanderers full-back came on late for Cancelo and helped see out the victory.

Antonio Silva- NA

The Benfica defender came on for Pepe in the 83rd minute and saw the game out. The defender didn't have much time to affect the game, though.

Joao Neves- NA

The young midfielder came on in the 88th minute for Vitinha. While he didn't have enough time to affect the game, he was neat and tidy while on the pitch.
