The English Premier League is once again underway after many grueling months without it, and whilst life just isn't same without the league, the return after a break raises expectations that much higher.

Last season was an incredible moment for the Premier League as we saw one of the most dramatic title race ever as well as all-England finals in both the Champions League and Europa League.

Although all positions in a team are equally as important, it is forwards that get the most limelight these days, and the Premier League possesses some of the world's best.

In light of this fact, this article will provide a list of who are arguably the current five best forwards in the English Premier League going into the new season.

#5 Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

At number five is Arsenal's star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who scored an impressive 31 goals and provided a further eight last season. He has started this season strongly as well, with 2 goals in as many games to his name so far.

It was an bold step for Aubameyang to move to Arsenal as the London club are a few notches below their main rivals in England, as of writing this. However, this hasn't deterred the striker and he is playing a huge role in the rebuilding of the club in the post-Wenger era.

This was arguably the most difficult position to fill, as it could've arguably gone to Harry Kane, who has been the best striker in the Premier League if one is to average performances in the last three or four seasons.

However, injuries hampered the Englishman's season in the 2018/19 campaign, so it seems only fair to place Aubameyang just ahead of him. Things could be dramatically different come the end of the season though.
