Premier League 2019-20: Betting tips and predictions for Gameweek 15
The managerial sacking rollercoaster is well and truly on in the Premier League.
Unai Emery (Arsenal) and Quique Sanchez Flores (Watford) have lost their jobs in the last couple of days, to join Javi Gracia (Watford again) and Mauricio Pochettino (Tottenham Hotspurs) in the unemployed section.
More sacking could continue, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer (Manchester United), Marco Silva (Everton) and Ralph Hasenhuttl (Southampton) among the managers being tipped to be the next to be sacked.
Meanwhile, Liverpool and Leicester City have continued to win and the Foxes could be the unlikely title race challengers as Manchester City’s defensive woes continue to haunt them.
The new manager bounce is well and truly on for Jose Mourinho at Tottenham Hotspur as reflective of the poor nature of the league this season, two wins in a row have catapulted Spurs up the Premier League table.
The relegation battle is also becoming clearer as Watford and Norwich are looking like relegation certainties, but there is a right scramble to get out of the third relegation spot.
Review of Gameweek 14
It all started with a big bang on Saturday as Newcastle United held Manchester City to a 2-2 draw. Meanwhile, Virgil Van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold were a double act in Liverpool’s 2-1 win over Brighton.
Chelsea were stunned 1-0 at Stamford Bridge by West Ham United, while Southampton edged past Watford 2-1, in a relegation six-pointer at St Mary’s.
There was also a double act for Tottenham Hotspur as Dele Alli got two goals and Heung-Min Son two assists as they beat Bournemouth 3-2. Burnley was shocked 2-0 at Turf Moor by Crystal Palace.
Sunday’s games had goals aplenty. Norwich City took the lead twice before being pegged back by a Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang double to see the encounter with Arsenal end in a 2-2 draw.
Wolverhampton Wanderers and Sheffield United played out a 1-1 draw, while Manchester United could only manage a 2-2 draw at Old Trafford against Aston Villa.
Leicester needed an impact-off-the-bench performance from Kelechi Iheanacho (a goal and an assist) to beat a battling Everton side 2-1.
