Premier League Team of the Week - Gameweek 6

Petr Cech recorded his first clean sheet against Chelsea in the Premier League

Gameweek 6 of the Premier League proved to be an interesting one with Arsenal recording a victory over Chelsea for the first time in five years. Meanwhile, Liverpool continued their goal-scoring spree although a clean sheet continues to evade them. And Sergio Aguero was back and on the scoreboard; not really surprising that, is it?

Find out which Premier League players make it to Sportskeeda’s Premier League Team of the Week.

Goalkeeper – Petr Cech

Since Cech’s move to Arsenal, he had yet to keep a clean sheet against Chelsea. This Saturday however, was a different story. Arsenal were in rare form against their London rivals. The night provided three goals for the Gunners and that elusive clean sheet for Cech against his former club. He even put in two important saves to deny the Blues any consolation.

Defenders

Daley Blind

After a rough couple of weeks, Blind contributed to the 4-1 victory with two assists

Daley Blind was a massive threat from set pieces this past week. Two of his corners from the left resulted in goals for Chris Smalling and Paul Pogba. He even began the build up to Marcus Rashford’s goal.

Hector Bellerin

If Hector Bellerin (right) had pockets in his shorts, the Chelsea players would have been in it

Probably the best right-back in the Premier League at present, Bellerin assisted Walcott with Arsenal’s second goal of the night with a low cross. He even did a great job of catching up with Pedro and putting in an important tackle when it seemed like his compatriot was sure to score.

Ryan Bertrand

Bertrand kept a clean sheet against an apparently strong West Ham United side

Ryan Bertrand was a source of constant threat to West Ham, especially during the first half. With a trio of midfield players ahead of him, he took every chance he got to surge forward and create opportunities for his team. He was quick to overlap Michail Antonio and provide a low cross to Austin which the latter placed in the back of the net.
