PSG 3-0 AC Milan: Player ratings for the Parisians as they put Rossoneri to the sword in a clinical display | UEFA Champions League 2023-24
PSG made lightwork of AC Milan with a 3-0 victory at the Parc des Princes in the UEFA Champions League group stage on Wednesday (25 October).
Kylian Mbappe set them on their way with the opening goal in the 32nd minute, with a cool finish beyond Mike Maignan after some neat step-overs to bamboozle Fikayo Tomori.
In the second half, Ousmane Dembele appeared to have doubled their advantage with another sublime effort, but it was ruled out after replays showed Manuel Ugarte committing a foul in the build-up.
However, shortly after, Randal Kolo Muani got on the scoresheet, firing home the ball after Maignan spilled Dembele's effort into his path. With less than a minute of normal time left, Lee Kang-in added a third with a confident strike into the bottom-right corner after Warren Zaire-Emery found him with a great pass.
Milan, who were second-best for much of the game against Les Parisiens, remain with a goal in the competition this season even after three matches. PSG returned to the top of the table in Group F with six points, while the Rossoneri remained at the bottom with just two.
Here are the player ratings for PSG:
Gianluigi Donnarumma - 7.5/10
Milan had four shots on target and Donnarumma was on hand to save all of them. His distribution was immaculate too and claimed a deserved clean sheet.
Achraf Hakimi - 6.5/10
Not the best night for the Moroccan, who was kept busy by Rafael Leao, and didn't offer anything meaningful going forward either.
Marquinhos - 7/10
The Brazilian commandeered PSG's defense with aplomb. He also dealt superbly with Olivier Giroud, following him like a shadow and using his physicality to wrestle for the ball. Marquinhos also made three clearances and two interceptions.
Milan Skriniar - 7/10
The Slovakian defender held the fort well for PSG. He was positionally aware and reacted well to any incoming threats. He finished with four clearances and a stupendous 96% pass completion rate.
Lucas Hernandez - 7/10
A strong presence on the left flank with his forward runs and defensive capabilities. The Frenchman made seven recoveries and finished the game with four clearances to his name.
Manuel Ugarte - 6.5/10
An ill-timed challenge from him in the build-up to Dembele's goal saw it get ruled out following a VAR check, besides which Ugarte was an important presence in midfield for PSG.
Warren Zaire-Emery - 8/10
The 17-year-old was the creative inspiration behind PSG's comprehensive win, bagging two assists. His hold-up play in the build-up to their first goal was terrific, and his delivery for their third was also top-notch.
Vitinha - 7/10
Vitinha was an indomitable presence in attack for PSG. He attempted six crosses and laid one key pass, while also making two tackles.
Ousmane Dembele - 6.5/10
Dembele appeared to bag his first goal for PSG minutes into the second half with a cool finish beyond Mike Maignan, but much to his dismay, it was ruled out following a foul in the buildup. He then helped set up their second goal after his effort was parried into Kolo Muani's path by the AC Milan shot-stopper.
Randal Kolo Muani - 7.5/10
He doubled PSG's advantage with a goal after Maignon spilled Ousmane Dembele's effort into his path, leaving the Frenchman to make a decisive finish into an empty net. For much of the game, though, Kolo Muani was subdued.
Kylian Mbappe - 8/10
A thorn in Milan's flesh, Mbappe gave their defense a nightmare with his directness and precocious dribbles. He mustered five shots in the game, of which one went in following some excellent footwork. Ten goals in 11 games this season now.
