PSG enter the race to sign Lucas Moura
Only days after the Daily Mail reported that United are finally close to signing Lucas Moura, it now appears as though Paris Saint-Germain are front runners for the hot Brazilian prospect. Calciomercato.com suggests PSG‘s bid for Lucas Moura is worth in excess of £35million. But, the French outfit have four non-European players in their squad already, and would have to wait until the winter transfer window for the signing to be completed. Unless Lucas only wants to move to United, Paris Saint-Germain will surely clinch his signing, if reports are to be believed.
But the Mirror reports another story, saying that Manchester is too ‘boring’ for Lucas. It also adds that Lucas would prefer the city of Paris rather than Manchester. It’s really frustrating for a United fan. Week-in, week-out; every time a new story. Now, it appears as if Sir Alex stayed back in England to push through a move for Robin van Persie.
I assume United are nowhere near signing Lucas, the Brazilian football federation (CBF) also confirmed that they had not given permission for Lucas to have a medical in Manchester, and would not give him permission even if a request came through from the club. Even the player clearly stated that he would not decide his future until the end of the Olympics. So, until then, whichever newspaper reports any kind of rumour, it’s obviously wrong.
But I am pretty sure United are still in pole position to sign the Brazilian, unles Paris Saint-Germain have actually made a bid in excess of 35 million pounds. But even then, the fact that PSG have a maximum number of non-europeans in their team could mean that Lucas MAY be attracted to sign for United.
