PSG News: 'Neymar has recovered from his injury and is available to train', says Brazilian superstar's doctor
What's the story?
Neymar Jr's doctor, Rodrigo Lasmar, has revealed that the Paris Saint-Germain forward has recovered from his knee injury and is physically ready to return to training.
In case you didn't know
Neymar picked up a ligament rupture in his troubled right ankle during a friendly against Qatar this summer, ruling him out of the Copa America which saw his national team, Brazil, win.
The 27-year-old was reassessed at PSG after which it was determined that he would not require surgery, with the doctors diagnosing a sprain of the lateral ligament in the right ankle.
Amid heavy speculation regarding a potential return to Barcelona, the forward recently skipped the first day of pre-season training for PSG, sending the media into an absolute frenzy.
Neymar's father claimed his son had PSG's permission for his absence but the club have denied the claims, declaring that they would take suitable action against the player.
The former Barcelona superstar, who has reportedly grown disillusioned with life at the Parc des Princes, wants to leave PSG, a fact recently confirmed by Blaugrana president Josep Bartomeu.
Neymar has reportedly already agreed to personal terms with his former club and is keen on ramping up the transfer process. His latest antics only prove to show that he would do anything to force a move to Catalunya.
The heart of the matter
In a statement to UOL, Lasmar has revealed that Neymar is medically ready to head to the training ground and begin ball work.
He explained (translation via Sport English), "If he was at a club, he'd be in the process of transitioning (to full training). He'd be out on the pitch and starting ball work. Neymar looked really well."
Lasmar also revealed that the last time he checked Neymar's ankle was after Brazil's 2-0 victory over Argentina in the semi-finals of the Copa America.
What's next?
A possible transfer to Barcelona would be really difficult for Neymar as the Ligue 1 champions will look to recoup the €222 million they spent on him back in 2017.
The Blaugrana are reportedly looking for ways that would be suitable for PSG to let go of their frontman, with a player-plus-cash deal also being considered.
