PSG President to Manchester City: Back off or face the consequences
Reports had earlier suggested that Manchester City were preparing a late, cut-price bid for French international and PSG mid-fielder Blaise Matuidi, who will be out of contract in the summer, and has reportedly asked for doubling his current wages of around €48,000 to stay at the Parc des Princes.
However, PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi has sounded out a warning to the Etihad officials, that he will target City’s star players if they make a move for Matuidi.
When asked about, whether he feared an approach from the Manchester based out-fit he said: “No. Because they know that if they touch one of our players, we will come into conflict with them, and we will also contact their players.
“We respect all clubs. But if a club try to recruit one of our players, they will have to accept the consequences. And what I say is not only for Manchester City, who, from what I know, have not contacted Matuidi.”
Matuidi has recently been linked with a deadline day move to English gianst Arsenal. Although going by the warning one wonders who would dare to even contact a PSG player.
He further said that PSG are in no position to sign Lionel Messi from Barcelona.
