Rumour: PSG eye bold swoop for Eden Hazard
He may be one of the first names on Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho’s teamsheet, but French newspaper Le 10 Sport report that Eden Hazard is a transfer target for French side Paris Saint Germain. Whilst PSG concede that they cannot move for Hazard in the January transfer window, they are thought to be lining up a summer bid for the Belgian international.
Hazard has featured in all 20 of Chelsea’s Premier League fixtures this season, starting 19 of them. Whilst Mourinho has frequently shuffled the pack in attacking midfield areas Hazard has remained constant, often at the expense of Juan Mata.
However Le 10 Sport claim to have exclusive information suggesting that PSG are readying a bid for the attacking midfielder. Last summer the Qatari-owned side signed then Napoli forward Edinson Cavani for £55 million and a move for Hazard would suggest that they are looking for another marquee signing this season.
Hazard signed a five year contract at Stamford Bridge upon his arrival in 2012, meaning that Chelsea are under no obligation to sell the Belgian.
However having been at the club for two years Le 10 Sport report that Hazard may undergo talks to extend his deal in the summer. Should these negotiations stall, then PSG will be waiting in the wings and hope to tempt the Belgian with lucrative personal terms.
