PSG's Edinson Cavani and Ezequiel Lavezzi banned two games for missing training camp
French giants Paris St Germain (PSG) have suspended Ezequiel Lavezzi and Edinson Cavani for two games after the duo failed to report on-time after a midseason break. The South American pair will now train on their own in the suspended period and have also been fined for skipping a training camp in Morocco.
The French champions next take on Montpellier in a French Cup clash on Monday, following which, they will face Bastia in a Ligue 1 encounter on Saturday.
Along with missing the winter training camp in Morocco, Lavezzi and Cavani also weren't part of PSG’s 1-0 win over Inter Milan in a friendly and also missed the first training session of 2015.
The breach is unacceptable: Blanc
Terming the breach as unacceptable, manager Laurent Blanc said that one can't give importance to individual motives as it can lead to disruption in harmony within the whole group.
"I find it inadmissible and unacceptable. When you're in a sports club, a collective project, once you put a personal project before the group, it puts the group in danger. I detest that. Once you meddle with the group and the team, I can become nasty and unforgiving," Blanc said.
Lavezzi has played 18 games for PSG so far, this season across all competitions, scoring 2 goals while Cavani has played in 22 games, scoring 13 goals across all competitions.
