Pune FC U-15 Trials: 34 player pool formed for 2013/14 season
I-League side Pune FC zeroed in on a 34-players pool for their new Under-15 team. Players shortlisted made the cut after extensive trials conducted over three weekends at the club’s Training Pitches in Mamurdi.
The players will begin regular practice from today, August 17 onwards. Initially, practice will follow a twice-a-week schedule (Saturday and Sunday). The aim, however, will be to increase the frequency to 3-4 sessions a week as and when possible. Sessions would also be planned for and scheduled during holidays and vacations.
Pune FC Under-15 Coach Sujay Sharma explained, “There will be constant monitoring and evaluation of the boys. Players from this pool shall be chosen for the final squad to participate in various tournaments and matches during the course of the 2013/14 season.”
The objective, eventually, is to field the best players in all lead up tournaments and the MUPC tournament.
With the creation of their Under-15 side, Pune FC continue to build a strong youth development system with the club.
