Ranking 5 best Barcelona players in 2024-25 pre-season

Barcelona kicked off their pre-season campaign with two wins against Manchester City and Real Madrid and a loss to AC Milan. The Catalan giants will be hopeful for the 2024-25 season following the performance of their team, mostly comprising youngsters.

The Catalans played their three friendlies with a young core of players and will be pleased with the performances of the La Masia graduates. The Spanish giants hope their youngsters can follow in the footsteps of Lamine Yamal and step up for the first team in the upcoming season.

Not all the credit should go to the youngsters, as the experienced members of the team also contributed significantly. The Blaugrana are set to face AS Monaco in their final friendly on Monday (August 12), but before that, here are the five best performers for them in pre-season so far.

5 best Barcelona players in 2024-25 pre-season

#1 Pau Victor

Pau Victor signed for Barcelona this summer in a deal that most will have missed in the flurry of the transfer market but has done himself proud in pre-season. The striker scored three times and provided one assist in his first three games with the senior team.

He joined from Girona for €2.7 million after an impressive loan spell with Barcelona Atletic that saw him score 20 and provide six assists in 39 games in 2023-24. The 22-year-old striker will be keen on cementing his place in the senior team and proving himself in Hansi Flick's team in the upcoming season.

#2 Robert Lewandowski

Veteran Poland international Robert Lewandowski returned after a disappointing campaign with his country at Euro 2024 (group-stage exit). In Barcelona's three pre-season games, he bagged an assist and a brace (against AC Milan). The striker will be expected to continue his goal-scoring form for the Catalan club next season.

Lewandowski has bagged 59 goals and provided 17 assists in 95 games for the Spanish giants. The 35-year-old striker registered 26 goals and nine assists in 49 games last season and will be looking to improve on that tally if his side is to regain their La Liga crown.

#3 Raphinha

After his €58 million transfer from Leeds United in 2022, Raphina heads into his third season with Barcelona with an impressive pre-season performance. His solitary game against AC Milan showed his prowess as he bagged an assist before being withdrawn after 78 minutes. Milan won 4-3 on penalties after the full-time ended in 2-2.

The Brazilian will be a key part of the Catalan side if they are to return to the top of Spanish football in the 2024-25 season. He will hope to improve on his 20 goals and 25 assists from 87 games for Barcelona.

#4 Marc Casado

Defensive midfielder Marc Casado is set to make his bid for a place in the Barcelona senior team following his impressive performances this pre-season. The 20-year-old has looked confident in the middle of the park for his boyhood club and could take a place on the team following his performances.

Casado has made five appearances for the senior team so far and will fancy his chances of emulating another La Masia graduate, Sergio Busquets, by forcing his way into the squad.

#5 Pablo Torre

Pablo Torre is one of the most exciting players in Barcelona's midfield and has already made 13 appearances since joining for €5 million from Racing Santander in 2022. The 21-year-old has a goal and assist for the club and will be keen to add to the tally after his pre-season strike against Manchester City.

The midfielder played 29 times on loan for Girona last season and will be keen to play more in 2024-25. Torre has been impressive in pre-season and would be expected to feature either for the Catalans or out on loan in the upcoming season.
