Ranti Martins adjudged the best player of I-League 2012/13
Ranti Martins of Prayag United has been voted the best player of I-League for the season 2012/13.
The 26-year-old striker, who scored scored 27 goals and topped the goal-scoring list for the 2012/13 campaign, has been chosen the Best Player of the League with votes from coaches and captains of all the teams that participate in the I-League.
The Nigerian, who scored a record 32 goals in the 2011/12 season, also bagged the Best Forward of the League award.
The Best midfielder of the award was given to Lenny Rodrigues of Churchill Brothers, who played a vital role as Churchill Brothers won the I-League title for the second time.
Churchill Brothers goalkeeper Sandip Nandy was voted the Best Goalkeeper of the season, while Uga Okpara of East Bengal was adjudged the Best Defender of the season.
Pailan Arrows were awarded the Fair Play Award of the season and the Coach of the season award is believed to be announced after the next AIFF Executive Committee meeting.
