Real Madrid 4-0 Osasuna: Los Blancos' Player Ratings as Vini Jr nets sensational hat-trick in a win marred by injuries | LaLiga 2024-25
Real Madrid secured a dominant 4-0 win against Osasuna at the Santiago Bernabeu in LaLiga on Saturday, November 9.
The result sees second-placed Los Blancos cut leaders Barcelona's lead down to six points, while the visitors remain an impressive fifth with 21 points from 13 games.
Real Madrid made a strong start to the contest as they dominated possession of the ball in the first period. However, despite this dominance, they were rocked twice in the span of minutes in the first half as two players suffered injuries. Rodrygo went down first and had to be subbed off, followed by an injury to his compatriot Eder Militao, whose knee injury seemed worse.
Both players were replaced before the halfway mark of the first half, but Real Madrid showed good spirit and carried on fighting. They put Osasuna to the sword in the 34th minute at first, with Jude Bellingham assisting Vinicius Junior for 1-1. Shortly after, Bellingham grabbed his first goal for the campaign with a well-taken lobbed finish from an assist by debutant Raul Asencio.
Los Blancos put in a strong first-half performance despite injury woes and entered the break with a 2-0 lead to their name.
Real Madrid suffered a third casualty in terms of injuries during the interval as Luka Modric replaced captain Lucas Vazquez. However, this did not halt their scoring rate one bit. Vinicius bagged his brace in the 61st minute, assisted by goalkeeper Andriy Lunin, and the Brazilian made it a hat-trick soon after in the 69th minute assisted by Brahim Diaz.
From that point on, Osasuna tried to throw many things at their hosts but were unsuccessful in their attempts as they fell to a defeat. They failed to attempt a single shot on target in the second period as Osasuna fell to their fourth defeat of the LaLiga season. Real Madrid, on the other hand, made multiple changes as Carlo Ancelotti guided them to another win.
On that note, let's take a look at the hosts' player ratings from this match.
