Copa Del Rey 2016: Real Madrid 6-1 Cultural Leonesa - 5 Talking Points
Real Madrid extended their unbeaten record to 32 games last night beating Cultural Leonesa 6-1 in the Copa Del Rey. Zinedine Zidane has now overtaken Carlo Ancelotti’s record of 31 games unbeaten and has made his mark as a manager in a short space of time.
Zidane rested his big players for the upcoming Clasico and fielded a starting eleven filled with many of Real Madrid’s youth players and they were rather delightful to watch. There was a start for Casemiro as well, who managed to eke out some game time before the Clasico. The game ended with Real crushing their lower league opposition with a host of goals and great play from the debutants.

Here are 5 talking points from the game
#1 Mariano Diaz – history maker
Mariano Diaz has placed himself into the record books after scoring Real Madrid’s fastest ever goal in Copa Del Rey history. He scored after just 23 seconds after a bad back pass from the Cultural keeper to their defender on the edge of the box was pounced on by Marco Asensio, who then duly squared it to the onrushing Mariano, who tucked it into the net.
Real took the lead, going 1-0 up and the night sprang to life. This was also the fastest goal by Real Madrid in the last six years. Diaz is also the first Real Madrid academy player to score a hat-trick in a Copa Del Rey game after Real legend Raul.
