'Real Madrid are allowing too many goals' - Carlo Ancelotti

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti

After conceding two penalties in two minutes in the second half of their La Liga match against Rayo Vallecano last weekend, Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has fired a warning to his players before their Champions Leage group stage match against Juventus.

Pepe was guilty of conceding a penalty and soon after a rash Marcelo tackle gave Rayo another penalty.

“We’re attacking very well, but we’re allowing too many goals,” Ancelotti said. “It’s an important game for Juventus but for us it’s an opportunity to qualify for the next stage. The sooner we do that, the better for us.”

If Real Madrid win their match against the Serie A side, they will progress to the pre-quarterfinal stage. And if Galatasaray do not lose to Copenhagen, a draw will be enough for Madrid.

Meanwhile, Juventus coach Antonio Conte will be counting on the home support to beat Real Madrid. “We need to make our home advantage count because, apart from determination and the right tactics, the atmosphere will be important,”

“I’m expecting our fans to provide a red-hot atmosphere, not only when the game is going our way but also when the game isn’t going our way. They need to push the players to overcome a hurdle, a very high one at that.”

The last time Real Madrid won at Juventus was in the 1961-62 season and no team apart from Bayern Munich last season have beaten the Turin side at the new Juventus Stadium.
