While talking to French football show Telefoot in an interview, Real Madrid centre-back Raphael Varane rejected rumours linking him to a move to Chelsea, and insists that only the 2014 FIFA World Cup has his focus.

“Right now, I’m not thinking about [joining Chelsea], we have the World Cup ahead of us,” the 21-year-old was quoted by Inside Spanish Football. “We have a young, motivated team that can do great things and has no limits.  I love the national team and contribute everything I have to them.  My goal is to become a starter.”

“[Zinedine Zidane] knows what it means to win the World Cup and it’s great talking to him about it.”

When asked about how he feels about winning the Champions League final with Real Madrid, Varane insisted that this could be the highlight of his career.

“’La Decima’is something magnificent.  My teammates have waited a long time for this.  This is truly the highlight of my career.  It was like I was in a bubble after the game.  There was excitement and happiness,” he added.

The French International has nurtured well under Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho when the latter was at Madrid, and have been heavily linked with Chelsea so as to replace David Luiz who is set to complete his move to Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain.
