Real Madrid consider offloading 27-year-old star due to lack of team spirit and professionalism: Reports

Real Madrid are reportedly interested in offloading Ferland Mendy in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Mendy, 27, has failed to live up to expectations since joining Carlo Ancelotti's outfit from Lyon for around €48 million in the summer of 2019. So far, he has lifted a total of eight trophies for his team, including two La Liga titles.

Despite being a key part of Los Blancos' prestigious double triumph last campaign, the nine-cap France international has fallen down in the pecking order this season. He has featured in just 1913 minutes, across 26 matches.

According to El Nacional, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has grown tired of Mendy due to his lack of team spirit and professionalism. The La Liga outfit are keen to offload him to raise funds for the upcoming summer.

Mendy, who has a deal until June 2025 at Santiago Bernabeu, has been replaced by Eduardo Camavinga as Los Blancos' first-choice left-back since the turn of the year. Nacho Fernandez and David Alaba are also currently ahead of the Le Havre youth product in the pecking order, with even Antonio Rudiger deputizing at times.

Overall, Mendy has scored five goals and provided 10 assists in 131 appearances for Carlo Ancelotti's side.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid have expressed an interest in signing Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies, as per Sky Sports reporter Florian Plettenberg. Manchester City are also keen to add the left-back to their ranks this summer.

Real Madrid star Eden Hazard attracts surprise interest: Reports

According to MARCA, Major League Soccer (MLS) outfit CF Montreal are keen to sign Real Madrid forward Eden Hazard in the near future. However, the Canadian side are yet to table an official bid to snap up the Belgian.

Hazard, on the other hand, is keen to see out his contract with Real Madrid, which is set to expire in June 2024. Los Blancos president Florentino Perez, on the other hand, is eager to offload the two-time Premier League winner.

Perez, who has often intimated his disappointment with Hazard, is said to be eager to free up the player's €23 million-a-season in wages in the future. He is aiming to cash in on the forward to start his summer recruitment strategy.

Hazard, who joined the La Liga side from Chelsea for around €140 million in 2019, has struggled to shine due to a host of injuries at his team. He has registered just seven goals and 12 assists in 76 overall appearances so far.
