Reports: Real Madrid launch €100 million bid for World Class striker

Planning for the future

What’s the story?

Real Madrid are set for huge summer squad overhaul and have begun talks with several targets already. The Spanish giants have been linked with 4-5 world class players but have now finally launched a bid for one of them!

Los Blancos have made a €100 million bid for Kylian Mbappe according to Marca. The Spanish publication reports that La Liga leaders are keen on securing the signing of the French sensation before anyone else are ready to pay a world record fee for it.

Zidane sees him as the apt striker for his squad right now. He wants the 18-year-old to replace Karim Benzema in the team and is ready to let go of the Madrid star in the summer.

In case you didn’t know...

Benzema has been highly inconsistent for Madrid in the big games, and the club have finally 'lost faith' in him according to reports. He's been linked with a move away from the club for some time now, and this summer might eventually be the one when he leaves!

Chelsea, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain and several Chinese clubs are said to be keen on signing the Frenchman. The former Lyon striker does not want to leave Bernabeu, but with the manager losing faith in him, he knows it's going to be difficult for him to find a way into the starting XI.

Zidane admitted recently that the 18-year-old almost joined Madrid for free in 2013. The Madrid manager has naturally confirmed his admiration for the striker and is now keen on signing him in the summer.

The heart of the matter

Los Blancos have recognised Mbappe as the ideal striker for their future and want to sign him as soon. The Spanish side ,  already begun talks with the Ligue 1 league leaders for the 18-year-old.

Spanish paper, AS have also reported that Real Madrid have made him their top summer target - ahead of Aubameyang, Dybala and Aguero. While a move for Aubameyang is still on, Dybala and Aguero are having long term contracts at their current clubs and are unlikely to move in the summer.

However, Real Madrid are not the first club to show interest in the young Frenchman. Manchester United have already had two bids of £80 million and £95 million rejected for him by the Ligue 1 side.

What’s next?

AS Monaco are in no hurry to let go of Mbappe. They know he's got a lot of potentials and are also aware of the interest from several clubs across Europe.

Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United, Barcelona and even Arsenal are said to be tracking him. Apart from the Gunners, every other side mentioned is ready to break the bank to sign him and that is the main reason for Madrid to make this early move.

Author’s Take

It's only a matter of time before Mbappe leaves Monaco. It's actually a question of ‘for how much?’ rather than ‘where?’. He is a huge Real Madrid fan and also idolises Cristiano Ronaldo.
