Real Madrid left-back Marcelo injured, out for at least two weeks

Marcelo out for at least two weeks.

Real Madrid left back Marcelo will be unavailable for Real Madrid’s  UEFA Champions League quarter-final clash against Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday after suffering a hamstring tear.

According to the official medical report released by the club, Marcelo had undergone further tests on Monday morning, and was diagnosed with a first-grade tear on his left hamstring.

“We have a good replacement for Marcelo, Coentrao has the experience and he’s fresh for this game,” Ancelotti revealed in his pre-match conference.  “Coentrao has the same job as Marcelo.”

According to UEFA.com, Marcelo could be out for at least 15 days, a big blow for Ancelotti after right back Alvaro Arbeloa was sidelined with a knee injury last week. He is also expected to miss Real Madrid’s away tie against Real Sociedad at the Anoeta stadium along.
