Real Madrid transfer news: Brahim Diaz to Madrid in 48 hours, Real Madrid raise their offer to €100 million for Cristiano Ronaldo replacement and more - January 4, 2019
Hello and welcome to the Real Madrid latest transfer news and rumours of the day! Here are the top stories surrounding the Blancos on January 4, 2019…
#3 Mido thinks Real or Barca could move for Salah
Former Tottenham star Mido believes that Mohamed Salah could be enticed by the option to sign for Real Madrid or Barcelona. Ever since the Egyptian joined the Reds from Roma, his form has been scintillating, so much that he ended up as the second-highest goal-scorer in Europe last season with 44 goals.
As a result, he has been linked with both the Catalans and the capital club. And according to compatriot Mido, the Liverpool star could “flip” should he get an offer to play for the aforementioned two since the Spanish league pair are in a class of their own.
“You never know in football. If Barcelona or Real Madrid come for you your head is going to flip, all the players are like that,” the former Tottenham star was quoted as saying.
“Barcelona and Real Madrid are different – no disrespect to Liverpool.”
Mido then added that it is not the nature of Real Madrid and Barcelona to sign players after one good season. As a result, the might wait until Salah finished the 2018-19 season to see whether he is a one-season wonder or a genuine world-class player.
He concluded by adding that should the former Chelsea star score over 25 goals, the Liga giants could circle around him, making it difficult for the Reds to keep him.
“I think Barcelona and Real Madrid were waiting to see how Salah would do this season, they don’t buy players after only one good or great season.
“I think if Salah scores 25 plus goals, I think they will come for him and it will be difficult for Liverpool to keep him.”
#2 Keylor Navas signs extension
In what seems like a piece of very baffling news, Keylor Navas might have just signed an extension with the Galacticos for another season in the least. The former Levante shot-stopper has seen himself fall behind Thibaut Courtois is the pecking order – even in the Champions League.
As a result, he had been linked with a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu in the January transfer window, but all of those stories might just be the figment of someone’s imagination.
According to Marca, the Costa Rican is set to sign an extension that shall see him tied to the club until 2021. This is almost confirmation that the Real Madrid number 1 isn’t keen on leaving the Merengue and, instead, fight for his spot against the Belgian shot-stopper.
Given how much Navas loves Los Blancos, this wouldn’t be a shocking move by any means.
#1 Brahim Diaz and Hazard
Brahim Diaz was supposed to be a Real Madrid player by now as stories last week suggested that he would be presented by the Galacticos this week. However, ESPN have come up with another report which states that the Manchester City starlet is set to join the Merengues within the next 48 hours.
The move will cost the Blancos €15 million for a player they could have signed on a Bosman transfer in the summer. Diaz will be the latest addition to Perez’s plan of signing young Spanish talents.
Meanwhile, Don Balon state Real Madrid are willing to increase their offer of €80 million to €100 million for Eden Hazard. The Belgian is set to join the Galacticos after the Blues sealed the deal to sign Christian Pulisic in the summer. The final price is the only piece to be solved.
