What is the story?

Real Madrid are set to follow a similar route with their club captain Sergio Ramos, as they did with Cristiano Ronaldo last season. According to Marca, Los Blancos will let the defender leave if a good offer comes in.

In case you didn’t know…

Ramos and Real Madrid have endured one of their most disastrous campaigns in the past few years as they failed to win the La Liga, the Champions League and the Copa del Rey. Their only winners medal this season came from the FIFA Club World Cup triumoh in UAE, where they thrashed Al Ain 4-1 to lift their 4th FIFA Club World Cup title.

Just when Real Madrid fans were hoping for a better next season, Los Blancos president, Florentino Pérez shocked the whole world with his latest interview where he admitted the fact that their skipper, Sergio Ramos had asked for a release from the club after serving several years for the Los Blancos.

“Sergio Ramos has informed me that there was an offer from China and that they could not pay a transfer fee because of rules there," Pérez confessed.
"Ramos has not been to my home and I have not been to his...he came to see me at the office and told me they had a very good deal from China," he added.

Last season, just like Ramos, Ronaldo approached Pérez with an exciting offer from Juventus and said he wanted to leave. Pérez in turn, granted Ronaldo’s wish as the Portuguese superstar completed the big money move to Turin.

The heart of the matter

Marca have reported that if an offer is presented out by Ramos or his people and if it is deemed worthy, then Perez might allow him to leave Madrid.

Several reports are also floating around in Spain, which suggest that there are numerous excellent offers from China to acquire the services of the Real Madrid club captain.

What’s Next?

One might wonder whether Pérez will let Ramos leave regarding the fact that he is such an integral part of the team. Real Madrid will play their next game against Bayern Munich on 21st of July in a pre-season friendly.
