Real Madrid transfer rumour: Real in for Paulo Dybala - James Rodriguez swap deal

Paulo Dybala: Real calling?

Paulo Dybala has been one of the most in-form players in Europe over the last 18 months or so. His incredible rise to stardom has attracted a multitude of clubs towards him, and, according to Sport, Real Madrid are the most prominent name among them all as they are looking to bring him in with James Rodriguez going to the other side.

With the departure of Gonzalo Higuain, the Merengues have no more Argentine players in the squad and, if Catalan outfit, Sport, is to be believed, they are looking to change that by acquiring the Juventus sensation.

The Old Lady rate him just as much as they rated Paul Pogba, a whopping €100 million. It seems as though the amount of money is making the Blancos add a player to lessen the financial burden and that said the player is none other than the Colombian star, James Rodriguez.

James has been warming the bench ever since Casemiro rose to the status of indispensability with the club. He might get games every now and then, but it is certainly not enough for a player of his stature. This becomes an even bigger issue when Isco Alarcon is brought into the equation.

It was reported that back in the summer transfer window, James Rodriguez refused an offer that would have seen him go to Inter for a mammoth €85 million deal. This was confirmed by the player himself as he sought to fight for his place rather than moving to Italy.

But a move to the land famous for music and pizzas might eventually happen, but with Juventus instead of Inter. The Bianconeri are one of those clubs that are always linked with the former Monaco man and this is a move that makes sense since Juventus don’t have a player like him while Madrid could really use a world class forward to challenge Morata as Benzema reaches the twilight phase of his career.

With Dybala’s contract expiring in 2018, Sport further stated that the Argentine will not sign an extension, which would force Juventus to negotiate with Real Madrid. They also claim that Florentino Perez has been in touch with Dybala’s representative. Furthermore, by the time the transfer window inflicted on the Galacticos is lifted in January 2018, they would be free to sign Dybala for relatively little to no fee—that is if Juventus fail to pursue him to sign a new deal.

Meanwhile, Spanish outlet, Fichajes, reported something similar, but with a slight alteration. The players they expect Madrid to use for the swap deal are Karim Benzema or Alvaro Morata, and not the Colombian international.
