Redbull planning to buy an English Premier League club
According to reports, energy drink giants Red Bull are aiming to buy a English Premier League club that has a stature to reach the Champions League.The company have already made their mark by buying clubs in Germany, Austria, United States of America, Brazil and Ghana.They also own a number of ice hockey franchises and a Formula 1 racing outfit.
Red Bull’s sporting director at RB Leipzig and RB Salsburg Ralph Rangnick has been handed the responsibility to scout for a team that meets the company’s expectations. Liverpool and Everton have been the favorites so far as these clubs would not need to be spent a fortune on to get the result.
Crystal Palace, Leeds United and West Ham United were also looked at as potentials. A close insider source to the deal said , ” Red Bull want a team to take into the Champions League. It is the only market they have not reached yet.
“Ideally this would be in the London area, but both Everton and Liverpool interest them too because it would not take much to get them to that level.
“They have looked at the Championship, but you can spend fortunes there and not make any progress, ” said the source.
