Reports: Arsenal want to sign Mario Balotelli by July 10th
Reports suggest that Arsenal want to tie up their move for Milan striker Mario Balotelli within the next few weeks, in order to have their new signing ready for a starring role in the club’s new kit launch on July 10th. Arsenal are in need of a striker to provide competition for Olivier Giroud and have been repeatedly linked with a move for Balotelli.
The Metro believe that they are confident of the move going through and that they have set a deadline of July 10th in order to capitalise fully on sales of Balotelli shirts.
Puma are taking over from Nike as Arsenal’s kit manufacturer from next season and also have Balotelli as a client, prompting previous reports that Puma would fund Balotelli’s Arsenal move.
The Metro believe that the move will be worth a fee of around £27 million and that Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has met with Balotelli’s agent while at the World Cup in Brazil.
Balotelli, currently at the World Cup with Italy, scored 14 league goals for Milan last season in his first full season at the club following his move from Manchester City.
