Reports: Manchester United still chasing Chilean dynamo Arturo Vidal
Manchester United are still tracking Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal and are prepared to make a £30 million bid to test Juventus’ resolve.
Reports in Italy suggest that United, according to the Daily Star, have been encouraged by recent quotes made by Vidal, suggesting he would be open to a move away from Juventus in the summer.
“Will I stay at Juventus? I do not know,” Vidal told Sky Italia recently.
“I just think about the World Cup and the national team now.
“After the World Cup we will see what will be my future.”
United have already flexed their transfer muscles in this window having confirmed the signing of Spanish midfielder Ander Herrera on Thursday with a deal for Luke Shaw also believed to imminent.
New Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is currently working with the Netherlands for the World Cup but he still approving transfers as he looked to rebuild the squad at Old Trafford.
Vidal, who has also been linked with Chelsea, is also at the World Cup with Chile but he hasn’t had the impact he would have liked due to coming into the tournament injured.
Nevertheless he has played a role in Chile qualifying for the next round as they beat Spain 2-0 and Australia 3-1 before losing to the Netherlands 2-0. In the next round they will play the hosts Brazil.
