Reports: Manchester United and Chelsea eye move for unhappy Barcelona star
What’s the rumour?
Philippe Coutinho's dream move to Barcelona has been nothing short of a nightmare for the Brazilian. The former Liverpool star has not played too well but has still managed to remain on the radar of Manchester United and Chelsea according to SPORT.
In case you didn’t know…
Coutinho got his dream move to Barcelona in January 2018 and it came at a huge cost. Liverpool pocketed a whopping €160 million for the transfer but Coutinho has not managed to handle the pressure associated with such a huge price tag.
The heart of the matter
Reports in SPORT now claim that Coutinho is unhappy at Barcelona but is being persuaded by his teammates to try his best every time he gets a chance. Ernesto Valverde has given him a lot of chances but Ousmane Dembele has impressed more than him every single time.
Manchester United and Chelsea are on the lookout for an attacking player and they have been linked with the former Liverpool man. The Brazilian is reportedly seen as an ideal replacement for Eden Hazard, who is reportedly keen on moving to Real Madrid.
Rumour probability: 5/10
While SPORT are a reliable outlet, this rumour just does not fit in well. There is no need for Barcelona to sell him right now and unless they are looking to make another big signing, this is just speculation.
Chelsea might be interested in him as they need someone on the left-wing if Hazard leaves. But he does not fit the bill at Manchester United as they already have Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial playing in that position.

What’s next?
Barcelona have to make a big decision – do they keep faith in him or do they sell him off and get another youngster?
