Reports: Monaco make star striker Radamel Falcao available for transfer amid Premier League links
Monaco have put a quartet of Premier League clubs on high alert following their decision to sell star striker Radamel Falcao this summer, according to reports in the Express.
The forward, who was ruled out of Colombia’s World Cup campaign in Brazil due to a knee injury, only joined the principality from Atletico Madrid for £50 million last summer but his stay in Ligue 1 is now destined to be a fleeting one.
Monaco are believed to have contacted Chelsea and Real Madrid to make their intentions to sell the 28-year-old clear, which could tempt the pair into making a bid for his services considering that both clubs were significantly interested in Falcao before he moved to France.
Meanwhile, Los Blancos youngster Alvaro Morata could be used as a make weight in the potential deal as Monaco will be keen to find an adequate replacement for their record signing.
AC Milan forward Mario Balotelli has also been linked with a swap move for the Colombian, who has attracted interest from Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool.
However, with the Spanish giant’s spending power unlikely to be surpassed by any of their rivals, the Bernabeu outfit appear to be in pole position. But, with a sizeable sum set to be required to purchase Falcao, the move could spell the end of their pursuit of Liverpool’s Luis Suarez.
