James Rodriguez will most likely be leaving Real Madrid in the summer

What’s the story?

James Rodriguez’s future at Real Madrid has been subject to intense speculation and now latest reports from Don Balon claim that the Colombian has set his heart on a move to Bayern Munich. Since making a big money to Real Madrid in 2014, James Rodriguez has struggled to live upto his immense potential, however, there are no shortage of suitors with a number of Premier League clubs and European giants Inter Milan and Bayern Munich interested in signing the Colombian playmaker.

The 25-year-old playmaker has fallen behind both Isco and Marco Asensio in the pecking order and reports claim that he is desperate for some regular first team football at a top European club. Also, James joined Real Madrid when Ancelotti was the manager and the Colombian is reportedly a huge fan of the Italian's methods.

The heart of the matter

25-year-old James Rodriguez is at the peak of his career and it is only right that a player of his calibre and talent gets the right amount of playing time. With Zidane reluctant to use the Colombian in key matches, a move away from Real Madrid is definitely possible for the supremely talented midfielder.

Also, with Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United and Bayern Munich all showing interest, James Rodriguez seems to have decided that his career will be best served by a move to the Bundesliga giants.

What’s next?

With the business end of the season approaching, games will be arriving thick and fast and Zidane will be hoping that James Rodriguez shows his class and talent whenever he is called upon.

Another interesting aspect is the fact that Real Madrid and Bayern face off in the Champions League quarter-final and Rodriguez will be determined to impress his possible future employers with a good performance.
