Reports: Super agent Jorge Mendes in negotiations to transfer James Rodriguez from Real Madrid to Juventus

James Rodriguez has not had been at his best for Real Madrid this season

James Rodrigues has struggled for form and fitness at Real Madrid this season and latest reports from Italian website Corriere dello Sport suggest that the Colombian superstar could make a move to Italian Serie A champions Juventus in the summer. It also went on to claim that negotiations are already underway with super agent Jorge Mendes leading the discussions.

Mendes met with two Juventus representatives to sketch the outlines of the deal which could be completed as soon as the summer transfer window is open with Juventus keen to complete this stunning deal as quickly as possible.

It is believed that Real Madrid are looking for a fee around 50 million euros for the player which will see them take a massive hit on the 80 million euros they spent on James when they signed him after the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

The move seems to have the backing of Real Madrid president Florentino Perez who does not want a player who earns a high salary but does not have the faith of his manager.

Juventus and Real Madrid look set to be discussing a number of transfers this summer with Los Blancos expected to utilise their buy back clause on Alvaro Morata.

James Rodriguez admits he is unhappy with the way Real Madrid are treating him

James Rodriguez has taken a swipe at his club, Real Madrid, over the lack of playing time this season. The Colombian – whilst on international duty recently – spoke to reporters about how he's been able to perform better for his country than his club because of the lack of playing time and the support he receives.

James moved to Real Madrid at the beginning of last season from Ligue 1 side Monaco for a reported €80m and hit the track running surprising his then-manager Carlo Ancelotti and the Bernabeu crowd but his performances this season has drawn a lot of criticism.

The Colombian, speaking to reporters after an international game, said "When you play and have everyone’s support it’s easier," referring to the lack of playing time and support from the Real Madrid who at times have booed him.

Earlier this season, when Rafael Benitez, was in charge of Real Madrid, the Spaniard accused James of not practicing enough and not giving his 100% during training to which he now replied,  “I’m fine. At Madrid I train well so I’m ready for another ninety minutes. I go for it from the start and then they say I’m not OK.”

And about claims of him being fat, he said, “Fat? Me? I’m in the best shape I’ve ever been."

With both the player and club not seeing eye to eye, a move to Juventus may benefit everyone concerned.
