Reports: Spurs' £10 million bid for Ben Davies accepted, but Liverpool still lurking
Tottenham are closing in on their first major signing of the summer after Swansea accepted their £10 million bid for their Welsh left-back Ben Davies.
According to English newspaper the Telegraph, the Welsh international can become the first signing of the season for the North London club under new boss Mauricio Pochettino.
However, the deal is not set in stone with Liverpool also monitoring the wear about for the left-back and may match Spurs’ bid. After failing to rope in Alberto Moreno, Brendan Rodger might turn his attentions to Davies, with whom he has worked earlier during his spell at the Liberty Stadium.
We don’t expect to hear any big confirmation on the Davies deal any time soon. That’s because Swansea are currently on an American tour and are set to take on Chivas Guadalajara in Milwaukee on Wednesday night.
The report further says that Swansea hope that this deal sets in motion a deal for Gylfi Siggurdson to return to the Swans, where he had his first taste of success in English football.
