What's the rumour?

According to reports from Spanish media outlet, Marca, the upcoming season can be Cristiano Ronaldo's last season with Juventus, as the superstar may not fulfil his contract with the Old Lady.

In case you didn't know...

Since his arrival to Juventus last summer, Ronaldo has taken the Italian top flight by storm and proven himself to be an asset for Juventus. The Portuguese talisman is one of the top goalscorers and top assist providers in the Serie A with 19 goals and 10 assists.

Thanks to the exploits of the Portuguese talisman, Juventus enjoy a massive 17-point lead at the top of Serie A table over Napoli. The Old lady has lost only two games in the Serie A this season, and in both matches, Ronaldo was rested.

Despite a slow start in the Champions League, Ronaldo helped the Bianconeri progress into the quarterfinals after almost singlehandedly knocking out Atletico Madrid with a hat-trick. The five-time Ballon d'Or winner netted 2 goals in 2 legs against Ajax, but unfortunately, that was not enough to defeat the Dutch side.

Ronaldo has featured in the semi-finals of the Champions League for the past nine seasons, but his streak was broken with a quarterfinal exit this year.

The heart of the matter

Juventus' premature exit from the Champions League after the loss against Ajax left their star unhappy, and if reports are to be believed, next season may very well be Ronaldo's last season in Italy.

Juventus enjoyed seven Serie A titles and four domestic doubles before Ronaldo arrived. There is no doubt that Juventus brought in Cristiano Ronaldo by spending over €100 million to help in their European dream.

According to the report, Ronaldo is furious and wants more signings from the board, while the board demands more from him despite his goals.

Rumour rating: 5/10

Marca is a reliable source, and if Juventus fails to win the Champions League next season, it is very likely that this rumour will come true.

What's next?

Juventus will face Fiorentina next in the Serie A.
